How to Register: Email [email protected], or put your name in the thread listed below.

Team Selection for Each Matchup: A coin will be flipped before each game. The coin-flip winner will choose the matchup (i.e. the two teams). The coin-flip loser then selects either (a) one of the two teams or (b) his preferred controller. If the coin-flip loser selects his preferred controller, the coin-flip winner selects a team first.

Note about Matchups: The coin-flip winner can only select a particular matchup once throughout the entire tournament. For instance, if Player A wins the toss and selects Rams-Broncos, Player A cannot call that exact matchup for the rest of the tournament. Player B, however, is free to select that matchup later in the tournament.

Rules:

Equipment Failure: If equipment fails during the game, games will be replayed from the start unless it is halftime. After halftime, scores are taken from the half and another half is played. Scores from each half are added together to form final score. Ties are allowed in pool play.  If the game is tied in elimination play, then a new game is started with the first person to score being the winner.  Any malfunction caused by human error may result in an automatic forfeit due to the discretion of the tournament organizers.
Onside Kicks: Onside Kicks are okay anytime (aka, "at your own risk").
Lurching: Lurching is not allowed (dive tackling over the line of scrimmage with a DL). DL use is allowed, but you must either go outside the Offensive Tackle or grapple an OL to rush.
WR/TE at RB: Running the ball with a WR or TE from the RB position is prohibited.  WRs or TEs are allowed to run the ball on reverses.

I'm locked in on hotel, although my schedule gets crazier every week it seems.

Last tournament I saw some carpool requests? I'm coming from DC area, probably hitting Philly at 3-PMish. If it's not too much of a detour I could pick up one, maybe 2 - although I have a tube TV and systems in tow, so not that much more space.

Thanks to everyone who came out for the first annual King's Cup in Fishkill, NY. It was a long day, but hopefully everyone enjoyed themselves and the pizza was good. I was asked and heckled multiple times from the crowd (aka Jim Teta) but I did not succumb under peer pressure to play. Only ran the tournament and played a couple pick-up games.

Special thanks to Brian, Pat Blanchard, Leif Powers, Greg Little and Erik M. for helping me with equipment and TV set-up. Wouldn't have been able to do the tournament without your help.

There were MANY close games in the double elimination bracket. Every time I took a walk around the room it seemed like there was either a 1. Comeback Game 2. Over time game or 3. Multiple overtime game. Special shout out to Tom C. who won his first game in the Play-In game to get into the big bracket, and was also tossed from the hotel becoming even more of a Tecmo LEGEND.

Kevin S. topped Erik M. in the final with a Phi over Min victory.

Top Finishers:

1. Kevin S.

2. Erik M.

3. Chris B.

4. Leif Powers

Pictures will be coming soon. Can't wait for next year when my athletic facility is built and we hold a pretty awesome tournament.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

I'll post briefly for now...it was worth driving 10 hours over the last 2 days for (all of tonight's in the rain). I really thought the setup of having more stations than groups was helpful for avoiding the awkward drifting and shiftlessness. Obviously you can't do that at an event with the scale of Madison, but this was far more to my liking. I got to play a much higher percentage of the players - and this also allowed for "revenge"/headhunting behaviors, if that was what you were after (which I like, by the way).

Thanks MattyD and all who came out!!

The champion and I were playing a practice round...I was intrigued by the match I had played against @red98sethuthut, so suggested the Rams and Bears. @tadaos took the Rams, and made the biggest mistake of the day by using Chris Everett. In the 4th quarter, Chris hadn't completed jack. So what does champ do...pulls out CHUCK LONG (AVERAGE). 2 TDs in the 4th. See attached video evidence, @son_of_pat_beach. #justsayin #readywhenyouare
