2017 MvG Challenge - A season of Tecmo NBA Basketball - 1991-92 Miami Heat Backups - "BimbOgg" aka "Bimbo and AO"

Morning all,

I've never played an entire season of this game, however I'm thinking I might want to.  I'll probably play with the standard 4 min quarters on the hardest level possible as the game is pretty easy.

I'm looking for recommendations for teams/lineups to play with.  Since this game is really easy, I will not make any substitutions during the game.  Also, for those familiar with my other challenges, I have done COMET Bowl seasons on Tecmo Super Bowl where I start the backups for the entire season.

I guess the Lakers kind of intrigue me since Magic Johnson is in the game, but he didn't play that 91-92 season due to HIV.  I'm going to review rosters tonight, but would like to hear others chime in as well.  Thanks in advance and take care.

Trevor

The team has been decided...the Miami Heat, using their backups...the challenge will be known as BimbOgg in honor of Vernell Eufaye "Bimbo" Coles and the late Alan Ogg as they are 2 of the 5 starters in this thing.  I will be regularly posting game vids on YouTube (please subscribe to my channel if interested, see my signature).  Below are the particulars...I should/will be posting player stats at the end of the season.  4 minute quarters, no substitutions, no timeouts.  I'm hoping the "Pregnant Wife" injury pops up lol.  Enjoy!

PG - Jon Sundvold

SG - Vernell "Bimbo" Coles

SF - Willie Burton

PF - Grant Long

C - Alan Ogg

Good must read if you want to get into this game. Also, check out the manual. It gives a good recap on each team:

And this review is a good one to give you an idea of what you are in for:

Just as an FYI, the first set of screens are regular season stats only.  The second set of screens have playoff stats included, though the stats are still divided by an 82 game season.  I actually didn't know that it kept stats after the regular season was over, I just happened to stumble upon it.  It does not add the playoff stats for Tecmo Super NBA Basketball for SNES as I tested it.

It also says all these guys played 82 games when they did not...Jon Sundvold, Willie Burton, and Alan Ogg all got injured, missing multiple games throughout the regular season.
