NFL 2017-2018 Season Discussion

207 posts in this topic

Teh Best, most exciting stories going into this season are Saints, Raiders, & when the hell someone's going to release a rom (I know you're working hard; trust me, you're an amazing breed).

Patriots are boring and suck ass.

Jets... Just go undefeated.

Halleluia.

And the Giants won't even make the playoffs, because Brandon Marshall joined the team.

Saints are not exciting. AP is not going to tip the balance for that team into a contender. In the pass-happy NFL, losing Brandin Cooks and getting AP is not an even exchange.

Raiders ARE exciting. I'm looking forward to seeing if they're able to get out of their own way.

The next couple of years in the NFL, for me, is all about watching a living legend in Tom Brady have a well-deserved victory lap(s) across the faces of most of his competition, while the rest of the NFL fan base impatiently waits for Tom Brady/The Hoodie to retire so that their team has a chance at being memorable.

I'm also looking forward to the sophomore slumps of Dak Prescott and Zek Elliot.

Ya offense wasn't really the problem for the Saints....the problem was the defense was basically as bad as the offense was good.

I swear it seems like the Saints have been this way for the past 10+ years

Even when they went 13-3 and won the SB the defense still gave up a lot of points / had a lot of shootouts

Raiders are another sick reminder of my team's bad drafting.  We could have had Derek Carr and selected Bortles instead.  :x

Ya the defense was always worse than the points allowed suggested. They had a few decent seasons although the SB season you are right it wasn't that good. It was mostly all the turnovers they generated including the now incarcerated sharpers 9 interceptions for 376 yards.

The saints are only exciting in as much as adrian peterson is now among them (imo).  But that's plenty enough

(not to mention, they'll be playing at minnesota week 1, on mnf)

Vikings all the way. I hope that Peterson has a good game though, cause I'm not bitter. The guy was Minnesota's offense for a decade.

David Harris cut by Jets a couple of weeks ago, gets picked up by the Patriots. I love the Patriots.

Another man's trash is Belichick's treasure.

Trrrrrrash? Dude was cut for cost savings by the Jets. He played 87% of all snaps last season! If the Pats can get another year or two out of Harris, who signed a 2-year deal, then that trash is treeeeeasssssssureeee.

I wasn't trying to be demeaning. I was just pointing out that Billy B grabs what is discarded quite often and then makes you pay for it.

david harris is old and probably past his prime.  kinda like picking up an aged Adalius Thomas.  he's not exactly "trash", but nothing to write home about.

Past his prime? For sure. But the Pats got a solid year out of Thomas, which is all they need out of Harris! Supppppeeeerrr Booooowwwwwwllll.

John Dorsey got dismissed by the Hunts. Pretty sure they weren't too happy with how Dorsey cut J-Mac.

Their ways are raw and full of intrigue, i must attest.  But would you expect anything less?

Maybe they should bring back fat and slow Revis, too.

I was just thinking of how great it would have been if the guy who caught that ball was Richard Sherman...   :)

July has hit, and with it will soon come the series of NFL season prognostications by those with the constitution to put themselves out on the limb by predicting the future.

Here's TB.org forum-goer Mike Gordan's epic 2016-2017 Tom Brady/Patriots prognostication. #neverforget #dontquityourdayjobmikegordan

      Happy Friday!

This is the 3rd seasonal release of Ken Griffey Presents: Major League Baseball 2017.  If you enjoyed 2015 and 2016, you'll love 2017!

The game-play and everything else carries over from the previous versions.  There is one major difference from the previous versions: the Homerun Derby.  In 2015, the Derby retained the original participants (Nick Noheart, Can O'Corn, etc).  In 2016, these were replaced with baseball legends like Hank Aaron and Babe Ruth.  In 2017, these have been replaced by the participants in last season's MLB Homerun Contest (Giancarlo Stanton, Adam Duvall, Corey Seager, Mark Trumbo, and Todd Frazier).

Also, I did change up a few of my formulas to (hopefully) closer represent their respective players, namely pitcher speed and control.

      Enjoy!

When I was at the Detroit Kumite tournament last weekend, a number of players from the Cleveland area who I had never met before attended as well and we all had a great time!  Many of these guys already get together a few times a year to play casual Tecmo Super Bowl at various venues.     I collected emails and some cell phone numbers for players that wanted to provide one.  This post is to see who would be interested in getting together potentially quarterly to play Tecmo Super Bowl and perhaps consider doing a Fantasy Football League in the fall for anyone who enjoys both Tecmo and Fantasy Football and lives in or near Northeast Ohio.   If this is something that interests you, please message me and provide your email address and cell phone number, as I will be creating a text distribution group in addition to the email distribution list once we finalize the initial details.  If you could also let me know ideas for places to meet, how many systems, cartridges, controllers and TVs you would be willing to share with the group, that would also be helpful.   The idea is to simply get a group of great guys together semi regularly who enjoy both Tecmo Super Bowl and NFL football.   Thanks in advance for your consideration.  More to follow after I collect everyone's thoughts and responses.
