So if I want to stream at live tourney what do I need?

Also this periscope thing,  Is this something that could work as well for a low grade stream?

Periscope definitely works on the fly. The quality/presentation will be iffy but the setup is minimal

I'd love baller ass shit.

But basically I'd want to capture the game and the crowd/players

Ok, I am assuming you are using a laptop.

That being said grab these two items for minimal but baller as crap streaming:

USB Capture: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00M7T8T1E - NES resolution output is whack. You don't need anything fancy. $19.99

Logitech C920 Webcam - http://www.amazon.com/dp/B006JH8T3S - I recommend this one because it has an encoder in the camera itself. That is good because it lowers the impact of CPU usage on your machine substantially. $59.99 -- freaking steal. It was $130 when I bought mine for Tecmo X lol

For setup, I can help you whenever via IM or at Madison or you can fly me out and feed me grilled veggies + beer.

Hospital. Weird disease. No longer carnivore. #VEGGIESFORLIFE

That stinks, but you'll probably live to 150.  Plus your pee probably smells like asparagus all the time.

Thanks for your help, going to give myself a bday present.

Ooh nice. I bought my family some logitechs a few years back for skyping but on some of the slower ones i think it really eats the CPU.

I have bought factory made AV cable splitters for my crappy live streams. Here is a link if you are interested in getting one. For me it eliminated extra wires and adapters.

Goal is at next Segathon

Have one station up that streams a live game as well as crowd shots.  Like the cool picture in picture thing you do. with the game and the little inset pic of crowd.

Thanks Dave for helping.  I will grill you a bushel of the finest veggies grown by supermodels.

OK, got it. Since we don't know what TV you have and it if has outputs or not, we will need to order the cables that Suicide linked. Grab them here . My bad for not asking that question earlier.

Connections are as follows:

White (audio), use White cable splitter and plug one end into the TV and one to the capture card.

Red (audio), use Red cable splitter and plug one end into the TV and one to the capture card.

Yellow (video), use Yellow cable and plug one end into the TV and one to the capture card.

This is your homework for now. After this we can take next steps and install software.

So I got the stuff.  So download the odb then I can plug it in?

Negatorski. For the capture device, did it come with software cd/dvd/drivers? If so, starting installing those jams and wait for it to tell you to plug it in.

Once the drivers are installed, download OBS and install for your flavor -- https://github.com/jp9000/obs-studio/releases/download/0.13.0/OBS-MP-0.13.0-Installer.exe

Once there, I'll shoot you some guides on getting OBS setup.
