Bruno Boo
Anyone here play the original Zelda for NES? It is amazing to think that it is a 1987 game, so large and complex , I started playing today and was surprised so good that it is. rmm1976
toolie
How old are you, Bruno? You are right, the game is a masterpiece. Enjoy and don't forget to play the second quest! I recently downloaded a game called The Legend of Zelda: Outlands which is a hacked version of the game that is much more difficult but still as fun as the original (I'd say) that any Zelda fan would enjoy. Both the overworld and dungeons are completely redone. I'm almost through the second quest but haven't been able to get through level 9 yet. Bruno Boo
I'm 29, Zelda is my favorite franchise, but i started with "A link to the past", here in Brazil was difficulty to found a Zelda cartridge in early 90's. toolie and kamphuna8
brandonj47
Dude! This game is the cat's pajamas. After playing it 25+ years, it's still one of my all time favourites! And Outlands, like my man said, is totally legit. Brutal difficulty, (at least at first) but totally awesome.
keithisgood
Just hopping in to let you know about another LoZ hack called Legend of Link. It is perhaps the most technically impressive game ever made for NES. Tons of fun. Light /Dark work mechanics like Link to the Past, all built from the original NES Legend of Zelda. Check it out. http://acmlm.kafuka.org/board/thread.php?id=7308&page=1 DFM, bradbears81 and GameplayLoop
CheapCatch
This is one of the best games of all time. Every year I do a run through of it. This summer I played through it (both quests) three times, with the goal of not dying once. On the third attempt I achieved this goal. It's a fun game. It would be cool to go back and play it with no knowledge of where the items, dungeons, etc. are.

GameplayLoop
The original NES LoZ is brilliant. And it's also cause for one of my greatest controversies growing up. I played it one day, the Nintendo crashed, and my elder brother lost all of his save data. I'm pretty sure this single event caused he and I to not be friendly to one another for around two years.
