Forgot to save, so this is the Dallas Game all over again: 28 rushes, 135 yards, 2 tds.

Also, one incredible thing happened during the game (tied 7-7 in the fourth). Mr 'always injured' Sikahema fumbled the return on his 20 yard line. And then, all of a sudden, Johnny Johnson picks up the fumble and runs the ball to the 15 yard line. The next play, he scores on a run where he jukes 5 different players. Amazing.

It was ~~PLAY DAY~~ here at the Manyo household for Xmas... and I chose to take on the world with my good buddy Johnny Johnson, finishing a regular season in one go.  My restrictions were:

  • The Johnny Johnson Offense: only allowed to gain offensive yards and scores via Johnny Johnson on runs, passes and kick/punt returns... field goals are okay (go Del Greco!), and defensive scores are okay too (I made these rules up somewhat on the fly, so while I ran for a first down with a QB in the first game, I didn't do so after that... later in the season, instead of forcing passes to Johnny Johnson since they would often result in picks, I instead chose to run out of bounds at the line of scrimmage with my QB... a handful of times, I forgot I had Johnny at WR, for example, and ran it with Sikahema before I realized my mistake, and also accidentally threw a few passes to other guys on picked plays when I didn't push the buttons correctly, but none of these had any effect on game scores or stats)
  • play for wins first, stats second (I never ran backwards or played negatively in order to boost Johnny's stats... sometimes I would eschew punts or field goals if I was confident in winning, but that's as extreme as I would get... I also did not throw full-field bombs to JJ indiscriminately unless I needed to, for the most part--damn he is good at those tho)
  • if Johnny got hurt, then I was only allowed to punt or kick field goals on offense (luckily he only got hurt once, in the early part of the season, I think midway thru Week 6... but came back the next game)
  • Never reset!  (I'll post the vid below to prove it... you can watch it closely if you want, but my personal recommendation is you play it in the background while having marathon sex with a smoking hot chick... haha, yeah right, merry xmas!)

Gave this a try, but I wanted to do a JJ JJ season. I used OG playbook with JJ at WR1, and also swapped Rosenbach for Tupa for about 3-4 games towards the end of the season because he went into excellent. Things went pretty well except by two losses came to New England (!) and Philadelphia. That loss to Philadelphia was crazy because Tupa (in excellent) threw 7 picks with Reggie White busting in on every play and also QB Eagles destroying my defense. Definitely the worst loss I've ever experienced, and the fact that it came vs the computer is hilarious. The hardest thing about playing this season was the combination of how long the play-action plays took to develop and Phoenix's leaky OL. JJ ended up with 106 recs for 5452 yds. I didn't keep track of conditions but JJ was in bad for at least parts of 5 games, but he still put up some really dominant performances, especially in weeks 14-16 where he went for over 400 yds in each game.

Here are some more screenshots of my season: although JJ was impressive, I'd say the MVP of the season was Lonnie Young. He only managed 2 picks, but he grabbed 33 sacks! That 69 rs can be really dominant against teams with play-action plays. Also I forgot to mention in my previous post that I ran JJ from the wr reverse play sometimes when I was either inside my own 10 yard line or inside the opponent's 10 yard line. It was almost impossible to pull off with the juiced computer, so his rushing lines don't look good.

Edit: I totally forgot about the best part of the season. I was playing on kb. It was pretty hard to move around on defense since I'm not used to it, and I got my ankles broken by a few players, none more disheartening than Phil Simms.

I might take a swing at a Johnny Johnson season after i'm done with my current series of TSB videos. Best of luck if you do decide to start over.

You better be careful.......playing with Johnny Johnson is like driving a Ferrari Testarossa.....Not everybody can handle that much speed and power.

Well since my 2nd crack at the Grogan season ended in a Super Bowl victory, I think it's high time I busted out the Johnny Johnson season and finished it this time. I'll be streaming it for dummies as I get my streams up to par.

Post edit. Gotta love the counter intuitive auto correct that my Kindle has. It really is the worst. The android phones do a fairly decent job. The kindle is laughably turrible.

I meant funsies not dummies. At least I think I did.

I got yo message Kamp!!!!!!  I would do the commentating, but I been hella busy........I will keep up on this season you are playing though.....I'm about to start one and try to go undeafeated...(thats HARD wit PHX...especially if Johnny gets hurt)...It's gonna be like a refresher course season, because it's been ahwhile since I did one...just to let you know, My best with Johnny was 4035 yrds rushing, and 63 rushing TD'S and that's not counting recieving yrds or recieving TD'S either, not to mention he missed a game and a half that year due to injury.................probably one of the GREATEST performances ever done by a person (Me) in the history of this game...not only that, I WON the Superbowl.  TOP THAT!!!  (That goes for anybody on this site, with any player)

(p.s.  Yo player gets injured, tough S#!t!!!  NO RESETS.)
