Tecmonster
Thanks to pambazos88, the 1-seed now has "home field advantage" (Player 1) all the way to the Super Bowl (vs. being forced to Player 2 for the conference championship game). The bracket has been flipped vertically around a middle axis, and the 1-seed appears at the top, playing the winner of the worst division winner and worst wild card. Here's the code: x23247 = 86x2324C = 8Ex23251 = 7Ex23256 = 76x232A1 = 7Fx3F770 = 77x23288 = 8Ax2328D = 92x23292 = 82x23297 = 7Ax3F77D = 83x3F785 = 7B . . . and to change the text in the brackets that you see BEFORE the playoffs are set, go to these offsets:x1e6d9 = 31 53 54 (for example, this changes "2ND" to "1ST")x1e6e0 = 34 54 48x1e6e4 = 32 4E 44x1e6e8 = 31 53 54x1e6f0 = 33 52 44x1e6fb = 32 4E 44 SBlueman and buck
buck
awesome, I can't wait to try this out - especially for ROMs that use the Home-Away 2nd-Player hack
buck
I still have not verified, but I have put Tecmonster's 1st post code into SET commands for everybody. just copy and paste into TSB TOOL Supreme, etc.... SET(0x23247,0x86)SET(0x2324C,0x8E)SET(0x23251,0x7E)SET(0x23256,0x76)SET(0x232A1,0x7F)SET(0x3F770,0x77)SET(0x23288,0x8A)SET(0x2328D,0x92)SET(0x23292,0x82)SET(0x23297,0x7A)SET(0x3F77D,0x83)SET(0x3F785,0x7B)SET(0x1e6d9,0x315354)SET(0x1e6e0,0x345448)SET(0x1e6e4,0x324E44)SET(0x1e6e8,0x315354)SET(0x1e6f0,0x335244)SET(0x1e6fb,0x324E44) Edited May 23, 2014 by buck SBlueman
buck
this appears to crash the 16 team Street Rom during the end of regular season screens.
pambazos88
this appears to crash the 16 team Street Rom during the end of regular season screens. The main idea was to give "home field advantage" for the 1st-seed (32 Teams rom only). Tecmonster suggested to change the order within the Bracket. However this is only a partial solution, cuz we havent messed with the Pre-game screens yet (for it to make complete sense). I think the 28 teams rom is correct the way it is, isnt it?. I am asking because I really dont know. (of course those locations were pointed for the 32 teams. The 28 teams rom has different locations for them)
Tecmonster
Yeah, sorry, I should have mentioned this is for the 32-team rom. Player 1 is in the correct spot for every game now. The only caveat is if the 1-seed gets upset in the divisional playoff, then whoever beats them will be Player 1 in the conference championship game, even if they play the 2-seed (who should rightfully have the Player 1 side then). It's the limitation of having a static bracket in TSB vs. the dynamic one that the NFL actually uses. To my knowledge, nobody has ever designed a dynamic playoff system for TSB and it's probably too complex to ever accomplish. I think this is the next best thing though. Like pambazos mentioned, the pre-game intro screens (e.g. "AFC First-Round Playoff") don't appear until the games in the bottom part of the bracket start but, to me, that's a very minor aesthetic issue that most people probably wouldn't even notice. Martin
I think the 28 teams rom is correct the way it is, isnt it? It's not. 2nd seed get home field advantage in Conference Championship game.
SBlueman
@buck, would the SET code you posted work with only the 32-team rom? And if so what changes would need to be made to fix the issue in the 28-team rom as per @Martin? SBlueman
Does that hack cover only the top seed? Or will it set the games so all the higher seeds play in the P1 slot? I tested it in a current project and it didn't seem to align all the playoff games correctly.

Maybe you applied it to the 28-team rom. It probably won't work for that one. Yes, the better seeded team will always play in the P1 slot with one exception. In the conference championship games, whatever team comes out of the top part of the bracket (where the 1-seed resides) will play as P1 regardless of its seeding. That means, if the 1-seed team gets upset in its first game (by either the 4 or 6 seed), and the 2-seed advances, then the 2-seed will still play as P2 in the conference champ game even though they have the better seed. So, that's the only flaw with this.
