What's on TV?

86 posts in this topic

I feel like I see tv shows on all the time that focus on a variety of topics with our favorite and classic players from Tecmo Super Bowl. So, I thought I'd start a thread for it. If you see something, please feel free to post it here so others can enjoy it. I think anything that promotes a good football debate is also good to add.

"Top Ten Power Backs" on NFL Network, 5-6pm, Saturday 4/17 (tonight!) The show blurb says it includes Bo Jackson and John Riggins. I'm guessing Earl Campbell and Christian Okoye may make the list as well.

**My wife's friends are having their annual block party at 3pm. The man is an identical twin of Kermit the Frog. He claims to love football but honestly might not know McNabb is no longer on the Eagles. One time at a previous party I let him ramble on and on about football just for my own entertainment. He said, "I don't get interference. Why can't the defense just tackle anyone at any time even if they don't have the ball?" I'd bet he wasn't even a band fag.

I was hoping for a better Alabama/Penn St game, but Bama is looking tough. Ohio State looked good today also. Once again, Boise St will need one of these teams to lose if they plan on playing for the Nat'l Championship.

Please God, please, let OU go easy on my Horns. They're young and fragile, with a lot of life ahead of them. 7-3 OU would be fine, I have squares!!!

What a shitty game. Was pumped to watch this, too...

Yes, go IOWA.

Though I am embarrassed that we took ourselves out of the National Championship and Rose Bowl pictures... I mean, our losses so far were mainly due to faults by our team, which is worse then just getting beaten.

College Football:

Rutgers at West Virginia (ABC, noon); Go Mountaineers.

Pittsburgh at Cincinnati (ESPN, noon); Pitt will roll. Bearcats have lost their claws from previous years.

Southern Methodist at Central Florida, Conference USA championship game (ESPN2, noon); Run & Shoot people!! Go Mustangs and June Jones!! :D

Oregon at Oregon State (ABC, 3:30); Beavers can beat their rival and ruin the Ducks Bc$ championship game hopes!

South Carolina vs. Auburn, Southeastern Conference championship game in Atlanta (CBS, 4); Auburn is favored but I would not want to coach vs Spurrier in a SEC Title game because his record there is scary. $Cam Newton is playing.

**Funny but True Side Story: Alabama's stadium DJ got fired this week for playing a music mix when $Cam Newton ran out onto the field. He played a mix of "Son of a Preacher Man" and "Take the Money and Run"! F'n Brilliant.

Washington at Washington State (Versus, 7); Winner of this game is not ranked 120th!

Florida State vs. Virginia Tech, Atlantic Coast Conference championship game in Charlotte (ESPN, 7:45); Hokies lose to MY JMU DUKES then roll the whole ACC schedule to get to this game. Hopefully, the Hokies can do better versus the CrimiNoles than my Gators did last week.

Connecticut at South Florida (ESPN2, 8 ); I am pretty sure if the Huskies win, they win the Big East.

Oklahoma vs. Nebraska, Big 12 Conference championship game, in Arlington, Texas (ABC, 8:07); Too bad it's not 1983!

Southern California at UCLA (Fox Sports Net, 10:30) The most boring rivalry in college football. Go Bruins! Beat U$C.

Yup! Good thing I was asked to work today so I won't be watching any college ball. Then what's better than having a 2-year olds birthday party followed by an engagement party on Sunday! Thank God the Pats Jets game is on MNF!

As for college - I usually root for the unbeatens to lose, but I'd really love to see an Oregon/Auburn national championship.

This morning my wife hands me an invite to a 3 year olds party in a couple weeks and simply says, "Set your tivo now!" Unfortunately, it's NOT during the Cowboys game so I guess I'll still watch. :D As for the ORE-AUB championship game, I'm with you but I'd rather them both lose today and F the Bc$ and NCAA right in the tailpipe. I am not a conspiracy theorist but I'd bet my life that the powers that be intervened with the NCAA to guarantee that $cam Newton stayed eligible to boost their potential ORE-AUB pay day. Pat Haden, U$C AD, has a right to be pissed because his school and players were punished when the parents accepted money. Total bs. I day dream about a NCAA Football Bracket almost every day. 8, 16, 24, 32, I don't care. And, please don't try and sell me some +1 bs or the tradition of the bowl system because it's crap. I'm routing for all the dawgs except VT because I like them a little and hate FSU.

No update, Fat-C?

This was/is a good weekend for football. 4 NFL playoff games + the college national championship! I'm not a huge college follower, but am very much looking forward to Auburn-Oregon tomorrow night.
