SNES Tecmo Super Bowl 2013-14

49 posts in this topic

Attached is the QBVIKINGS 2013-14 Preaseason Preview Tecmo Super Bowl ROM for SNES.

Rosters are accurate as of July 7. Position Battles and rookie starters are purely my prediction.

Kaepernick is very fast, see if you can stop him!

Thanks to MRNFL for creating the original base rom.

Having a blast with this Rom, QBV!

Overcame a big 4th-qtr deficit (scoring 2 TDs in a 25-second span, within the final 39 seconds of play) to win 31-30 over Carolina, and start my 1st season - with the Jets - 3-1...
(They'd better play Geno, 'cause he's on a roll!!!)

Every game's a challenge, and I like that. Thanks!

this is awesome man!!!! there was a glitch during a game, im not sure if you're aware of it! I was playing as the 49ers against the Ravens and on a punt return to end the half Jacoby Jones muffed it, and the game just stayed stuck in fumble mode. the ball just stayed on the field and the players just kept surrounding it like bees. haha

Thanks for the feedback. Hmmm... Have not heard of that happening in an snes rom. Let me know if it happens again.

Also too, I noticed in season mode that the teams aren't in the right divisions? are you still fixing that part?

Qbviking I downloaded the link you provided and I reinstalled the rom, but the problem I'm having is when I attempt to unzip it an error code pops up. Any suggestion?

that has to be your unzipping program. you'll have to try winzip or WinRAR. whatever program you don't have.

Unfortunately with snes that is what it is. If you want all 32 teams, correct schedules and divisions, download the 2013-14 rom I created, which is much better in my opinion.

I tried several times to unzip it... unsuccessful

Have you tried using winzip? Also instead of right clicking you can click on the zipped icon and just drag the rom out of the folder manually.

EDIT: nevermind, I found the NES rom, its awesome man. Thanks for all your time and dedication. I am showing it off to all of my friends. They are super pumped. I do like the play of the SNES rom better, I guess I just always enjoyed SNES more. too bad you cant change the divisions. :(

You should check the SNES resource thread...I have a few versions on there with HD player models (read: a 3rd uniform color/sock color), and also a contributed ROM that has generic endzones that just say "Tecmo" so you don't have to edit the graphics for each team.

Very nice ROM. Very well made from my perspective. I know how difficult making the new logos are, but the one thing that bothers me is that you are missing 4 teams. And i know, you could only fit so much. But in the future, try to find a way to fit all 32 teams. Missing teams: Oakland, St. Louis, Detroit, and Kansas City.

This ROM is a 2017 update to the 1996 SNES release of College Slam, the NCAA version of NBA Jam.  In the original game, there were no players - just generic names like "PT GUARD," "CENTER," etc.  I have edited all the names to reflect the top five players from all 44 included teams.  I've updated the names, player ratings, appearances, and a couple of team names (FSU becomes Florida State, UNC becomes North Carolina).

As an added bonus, when you press UP-DOWN-LEFT-RIGHT-UP-DOWN-LEFT-RIGHT on the title screen, you can unlock 9 extra teams.  I've edited these as well.  The unlockable teams are the 2010 thru 2016 All-American teams, BaronROMs University, and the East Side Crew (folks I grew up with who traveled between each other's houses, having SNES TSB and NBA Jam parties on the weekends).  Enjoy!

Here we go. We're actually doing it. We're gonna let Johnny Johnson run wild in the Beaver (state).

SirTed and I will be crossing the mighty Columbia to bring the Tecmo heat into the Rose City. Even though Gripsmoke and Tailback King are the only Tecmoers to make much noise out of P-town (one with his play, the other with his spray), they are both HOFers, and Oregon is due for some hot Tecmo action.

      WHEN
      January 28th, 2017, 11 am.
(The Saturday between the Conference Championships and the Superbowl)

      WHERE
Concordia Ale House 3276 NE Killingsworth St, Portland, OR 97211
(Ground Kontrol isn't big enough for all us heavyweights, I'm still down to hit it up after)

      WHAT
      Tecmo Super Bowl... and more...
      (get some)

      WYMAN
      well...

Seattle has juice and Centralia is... centrally located, but it's time to mix it up and let Portland get some shine. The City of Roses. Bridgetown. Rip City. PDX. One of the jewels of the region and home to something in the sports world we are sorely lacking in Seattle- NBA Basketball.

Ted and I will be parlaying our journey South into Friday Night Memphis Grizzlies at Portland Trailblazers action 1/27. Hope you can join us.

AND This tournament will not just be a Tecmo Super Bowl showdown. In honor of Clyde the Glide, Terry Porter, and Rick Adelman's mustache, this event will also feature a (very small) Tecmo NBA Basketball Tournament. RIP CITY

WHERE YOU AT TBK!? LET'S GOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

(as if there was any doubt... I'm already putting you on the list, best make it happen)

      2. Tailback King

Oh this is gettin juicy. WHO ELSE??

Shout out your presence here in the forum or message me or SirTed up! This is your chance to be a part of the FIRST MAJOR PORTLAND TECMO Tournament and the FIRST (albeit very small) TECMO NBA BASKETBALL Tournament!

      MORE DETAILS

We are STARTING at 11 am. Please don't be late. Show up EARLIER than 11, so we can do last second adjustments, explain the rules, and get to playing right away.

Entry Fee: $30. Payouts: $60 to the top newcomer. 3rd place gets their money back. $60 for 2nd place. Champ takes home the rest. Loser's bracket champion will once again have their choice of two prizes with the Loser's bracket runner-up getting the other.

      FORMAT

Standard Madison Rules for all matchups. You may only call a certain matchup ONCE the entire day.

There will be 5 rounds pitting two random participants vs each other. Names will be drawn out of a hat and pitted against each other. At the conclusion of 5 rounds, the 8 competitors with the best winning percentage will be put into a double-elimination bracket to decide the Portland Tecmo Champion.

ALL GAMES in round 3 will be Dallas vs Phoenix: The JOHNNY FREAKIN JOHNSON round.

The 1st tiebreaker will be opponent's winning percentage, the 2nd tiebreaker will be Tecmo NBA winning percentage and the 3rd tiebreaker will be combined Tecmo NBA and TSB score differential. (Don't worry if you can't hoop, The 2nd and 3rd tiebreak shouldn't be a factor, really)

Cash prizes will be given out to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, and the Top Newcomer.

The remaining competitors will be seeded into the loser's bracket to duke it out for their choice of a consolation prize.

If you were in Seattle this September, it will be very similar in structure to that only this time-

      1) If you are late, you take an L. Be there at 11 am or risk forfeit. Exceptions will be made if we took a while to get organized or there is a shortage of TVs and there were delays otherwise, but lets everyone try to be there and ready to play by 11 am!

      2) Everyone will get at least 6 games. Last time a certain amount of losses booted you, but this time, you can keep rollin and fight for improved seeding.

And also, there will be some action on the side-

A March Madness style single elimination Tecmo NBA tournament. Seeded randomly, this will only be for a trophy and bragging rights.

Pick and rolls will be executed. Facials will be administered. Roundball will be run, but the focus will be on Tecmo Super Bowl, cause thats whats up.

      SEE YOU SATURDAY

      FIFA World Cup 2014
View File This isn't Tecmo, but it is Football.

I've modified the Sega Genesis' FIFA International Soccer '93 to reflect the rosters of the 2014 FIFA World Cup that was won by Germany.  There are 48 teams total, plus an Adidas All-Star Team.

Although the teams are from three years ago, this will serve as a foundation for when I release a future ROM based on the 2018 World Cup.  If my memory serves correct, this is the 4th ROM released in a series of ROMs based on the 2014 World Cup, to include Nintendo World Cup (NES), International Superstar Soccer (SNES), and J.League Winning Goal (NES).

Please note, I still consider this release to be a work in progress.  At the moment, I have been unable to locate the locations of the player ratings.  To off-set this, I've arranged the rosters so that 2014's players reflect the 1993 players in both position and skill level.  I figure while not necessary, I have until 2018 to figure this out.  I was able to adjust the overall team ratings, however.

      Enjoy!
